Short version: AetherTime is commercial software. You pay once, you use it forever. The source code is MIT-licensed on GitHub; the pre-built app is governed by these terms.
AetherSol ("Licensor") licenses the AetherTime desktop application ("Software") to you ("Licensee") subject to the terms below. By downloading, installing, or using the Software, you agree to this agreement. If you do not agree, do not download or use the Software.
Upon payment of the single-user license fee, Licensor grants Licensee a non-exclusive, non-transferable, perpetual license to install and use the Software on one computer for use by one natural person.
Upon payment of the firm license fee, Licensor grants Licensee a non-exclusive, non-transferable, perpetual license to install and use the Software on up to five (5) computers for use by up to five (5) natural persons within a single organization.
Without payment, Licensor grants a non-exclusive, non-transferable, temporary license to use the Software for a period of thirty (30) days from first launch ("Trial Period"). The Trial Period grants full functionality. After the Trial Period, the Software will stop functioning until a paid license is activated.

The source code for the Software is publicly available under the MIT License (see LICENSE in the repository root). This open-source license applies only to the source code. The pre-built binary distributions of the Software are governed by this EULA, not the MIT License.
Licenses include free access to all updates for one (1) year from the date of purchase. After one year, the Software will continue to function at the version last installed, but Licensee will not receive new updates unless a renewal license is purchased.
Renewal terms and pricing will be made available at Licensor's discretion. Licensor reserves the right to change renewal pricing.
The Software operates entirely locally. It does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on Licensor's servers. No telemetry, analytics, or usage data is sent from the Software. The only network request the Software makes is an optional manual check for updates triggered by the user. See the Privacy Policy for full details.
Licensor retains all right, title, and interest in and to the Software, including all intellectual property rights. This EULA does not transfer any ownership rights to Licensee.
This EULA is effective until terminated. It terminates automatically without notice if Licensee fails to comply with any provision. Upon termination, Licensee must cease all use of the Software and destroy all copies.
THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NONINFRINGEMENT. THE ENTIRE RISK AS TO THE QUALITY AND PERFORMANCE OF THE SOFTWARE IS WITH LICENSEE.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL LICENSOR BE LIABLE FOR ANY SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, INDIRECT, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES WHATSOEVER (INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, LOSS OF DATA, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION) ARISING OUT OF THE USE OR INABILITY TO USE THE SOFTWARE, EVEN IF LICENSOR HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
This EULA shall be governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws provisions.
